Young Warriors is all about providing professionally supervised and mentored programs, which provide opportunities for youth to participate in live music.

Experienced industry people mentor the musicians, through to performance with all equipment provided.

This year we continue a theme of youth being able to access the program through their local Council. Starting June the 30th, coach and mentor Kirsten Jackson will take bands through their paces over two weeks of rehearsals, culminating in the Big Gig, where bands will be able to play for family and friends.

The Program starts with an Orientation/Jam day and ends with a final concert (Big Gig) Thursday the 12th of July.

Bands will rehearse a minimum of 3 times over the two week school holiday period and rehearsal culminates with a Big Gig at The Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre. Included in the program will be a Song Writing Workshop with special guest musicians Dino Jag, who will also be helping at the initial Jam Day.

The program is FREE and fully sponsored by the Gladstone Regional Council and Young Warriors Australia. All backline and instruments are provided in the program. Participants are welcome to bring their own instrument and drummers bring their own drumsticks.

The Young Warriors Making Music Live program on the Gold Coast was a huge hit delivering great community benefits.

Gold Coast Council is at the forefront of localized community engagement. Activating, local council’s resources to connect through the provision of infrastructure and programming, providing outreach and efficiencies not easily achieved independently.

This program relied on a modest, shared investment from Gold Coast Council in order to deliver extraordinary results and value for money and has been run by us in some form since 2004.
