Fans and people in general who follow music of all kinds look at their idols and artists or musicians as somewhat invincible but what people don’t realise is as talented as these artists are they are just human like all of us at the end of the day. Sadly, through this there have been plenty of promising young artists who arguably had already cemented their mark as one of the greatest in their field but we can all agree had gone too soon! Here are the top 5 Musicians gone too soon.


5) Amy Winehouse

A gifted young singer who translated this raw emotion into her killer voice across multiple genres including soul, jazz and R&B. Winehouse released two multi-platinum albums which took the world by storm earning her multiple Grammys and worldwide recognition. Unfortunately, behind the scenes Winehouse was plagued with much publicised drug and alcohol abuse and eventually passed away from alcohol poisoning in 2011 at age 27.


4) Kurt Cobain

Easily one of the most talked about modern musicians to have had his career end early was Nirvana front man Kurt Cobain. Cobain had committed suicide at the age of 27 in 1994. Cobain had composed iconic albums with Nirvana and had represented a style and attitude shift in music in the early 90’s introducing grunge to us all and because of this influenced countless band in the years following his death. Cobain will remain as one of the most influential musicians of all time.


3) Jim Morrison

One of the most iconic rock bands The Doors led by one of the most iconic rock stars Jim Morrison. A true performer he ignited the bad boy rock star era and this was led by his couldn’t care less persona. He was an amazing lyricist and songwriter and has crafted some of the most timeless rock songs that graced this earth and this made The Doors one of the best-selling bands of all time, Morrison died as a 27-year-old in 1971 due to a heroin overdose.


2) The Notorious B.I.G

Biggie smalls was known as one of the greatest products in Rap and Hip Hop to come out of the East Coast. He helped put the east coast on the map and to this day been regarded as one of the most critically acclaimed and praised MC’s of all time. Sadly, he passed in a drive by shooting at the age of 24 in LA.


1. Tupac Shakur

Over a short 8-year career, Tupac earned the reputation of being one of the greatest MC’s ever and this was fuelled by the West Coast vs East Coast rivalry. Sadly, like biggie he was shot and killed in a drive by shooting on the Las Vegas strip at the age of 25. To this day, he will remain one the most influential rappers to grace this earth selling over 75 Million albums and changing hip hop as we know it.
