Coronavirus Cancellations: Festivals, Concerts, Tours, Films Affected by the Outbreak

As COVID-19 continues to spread and spark growing concerns globally, the music and film industries are taking preventive action — postponing or canceling tours, concerts, major festivals, and film releases to help contain potential infections while writing heartfelt statements to their fans and attendees.

On March 11th, the World Health Organization labeled COVID-19 a “pandemic.” “Pandemic is not a word to use lightly or carelessly,” WHO chief Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said in a news conference. “We cannot say this loudly enough or clearly enough or often enough. All countries can still change the course of this pandemic.” Ultra Music Festival was the first major festival to pull the plug, and South by Southwest will not take place for the first time in 34 years. From Pearl Jam to Madonna, plus many more artists taking precautions.

Note: We all need to do our bit so we can get back to a normal life as soon as possible.
